Beginning Bible Scholar series for young readers

My friend Diane Lesh is a kindergarten teacher who is passionate about reading and teaching young kids to read.  She was frustrated with the materials available for use with her kids, particularly since she teaches at a Christian school and wanted to introduce her students to reading through Christ-centered books.  We put our heads together and came up with I can know God, our first of (hopefully) several books aimed at making God’s Word accessible to even His youngest seekers.  Only beginning sight words and phonetic words were used to convey foundational Scriptural truths; a supporting Bible verse is added to each page so that parents and teachers can provide further context for their young readers.

Music Men by Laurie Heath

It all begins with the first few notes of a melody ringing out from an electric guitar, or perhaps a fiddle or accordion. Before the uninitiated listener can name that tune, five more nimble pairs of hands join in to create an improvised rendition of a favorite song, each one taking the lead for a verse before bringing it home for the big finish.
